Palm Beach Centennial
The Centennial Ambassadors personify all that is great and beautiful about the Town of Palm Beach. The privilege of serving as an Ambassador is not connected or related to any financial support of the Centennial Celebration. It is an honorary appointment by the Centennial Commission. There is no application process. The Centennial Ambassadors were selected on the basis of their long-standing historic relationship to the Town. The names of these leading citizens were announced on November 23rd, 2010 at a special reception hosted by the Colony Hotel. Centennial Celebration Weekend
The Town of Palm Beach Centennial Commission is organizing four official events to mark this important milestone:
- Friday April 15, 2011: The Centennial Kick Off Reception at The Mar-a-Lago Club will launch the Centennial Weekend with an evening of music, dancing and conviviality from 6:30pm to Midnight. Tickets sold on a first come first serve basis. Attendance is limited.
- Saturday April 16, 2011: The Centennial Ambassador’s Ball honoring our Centennial Ambassadors, live and on film, and in grand style at The Breakers Palm Beach from 7pm to 11pm. Attendance by invitation.
- Sunday April 17, 2011: Town of Palm Beach’s All-Town Celebration being held on the mall and front steps of The Flagler Museum. All ages join in official proclamations, inspirational remarks, entertainment, fireworks, refreshments and more. Festivities begin at 6pm with a promenade leading up to The Flager Museum and conclude around 9:00pm with fireworks over Lake Worth. Free to all Town residents.
Details and plans of the four official events are decided by the Host Committee for each event. The Chairmen and Chairwomen of the Host Committees and Host Committee Members will be announced in the near future.
If you are interested in serving on the Host Committee for one of the four official events, contact the Centennial Commission.
